Independent UX-focused developer, product designer, and problem-solver for WordPress-based businesses.

Hi there, I’m Dave Bloom.

I’m a web developer, designer, UX thinker, content strategist, and teacher who isn’t afraid to challenge an orthodoxy (or several) and who regularly colors outside the lines.

I help freelancers and small businesses build authentic online spaces that do more than just exist: they connect and convert.

After years of watching talented business owners struggle with overly complex tools or settle for cookie-cutter websites, I decided to focus my practice on making the web more accessible and genuine.

The internet has become increasingly dominated by big platforms and noisy algorithms. I believe we can carve out better spaces: ones that reflect who we really are and what we actually offer, without getting lost in the nerdy stuff.

What I create

I’ve developed platforms like Yoursellf, which helps individuals establish their online identity, immediately, without wrestling with technical complexities, and Aviator, a WordPress site-building environment which provides professional design components that don’t require a design degree to implement.

These projects emerged from countless conversations with individuals and businesses who wanted something simple, yet effective—a way to focus on their core business while I handle the technical and design decisions that make their online presence shine.

Consulting work

When I’m not building these platforms, I partner with small to mid-sized businesses to solve a wide range of web presence challenges. I transform underperforming websites into conversion-focused tools by improving user flow, clarifying messaging, and enhancing technical performance.

Many clients come to me with sites that function more like static brochures than business engines. I help them identify and fix technical bottlenecks, refine their design for better engagement, sharpen their positioning and messaging, and, where appropriate, build custom solutions that address their specific user needs.

What connects these projects is my focus on practical results rather than just aesthetics. Websites should be clear, functional tools that support your business goals—not just pretty digital facades.

Getting started

I currently offer consulting services by the hour for businesses looking to improve their online presence.

Whether you need help with user experience, conversion optimization, or simply making your website better reflect who you are and what you do, I’d be happy to chat about how we might work together.

If that sounds interesting, let’s talk. No pressure, no sales pitch—just a conversation about how to make your corner of the internet work better for you.
